How the counts are measured
Words are counted by splitting on whitespace and ignoring empty entries. Characters are counted with and without spaces. Sentences are estimated by counting terminators such as periods, question marks, and exclamation points. Paragraphs are counted from non-empty blocks separated by blank lines. Reading time assumes about 200 words per minute.
